The dictionary defines determination as a “firm or fixed intention to achieve a desired end”. In other words, it means never giving up until you reach your goal. Now, how many of your have abandoned a goal before? Why? Because things got hard or you weren’t seeing progress as quickly as you wanted? What about those New Year resolutions we all made just a few weeks ago? Are you still on track? If you aren’t, does that mean you aren’t determined? OF COURSE NOT! Maybe your method to achieving those goals didn’t work, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. Remember that determination is not a “firm or fixed” way of doing something, which means that if one method fails, you just need to try another! Don’t let a lack of progress be the reason you stopped working so hard for what you want! Sometimes it takes 2, 3, 4, or 100 tries before getting something right, but when you do get it right there is no better feeling the world. Sometimes all it takes a new way of doing things to get your fire burning again! Think about what steps you are taking on a daily basis to reach your goals – what can you does better or more efficiently? Make a plan, write it out, tell someone you know will help keep you accountable, and get to work!
